What exactly do you do at Signpost?
Samira: "I am the Marketing Coordinator at Lernova. In a nutshell, that means I am the point of contact for online and offline communication. My responsibilities also include Lernova's brand identity, which is important to ensure uniformity and recognisability, both online and in print.

Furthermore, I am responsible for purchasing and managing gadgets and promo material, I coordinate projects carried out by an external design agency (graphic design of e.g. flyers, posters) and design flyers, banners and social media images myself. Managing Lernova's website also falls under my responsibilities. Together with an external agency, I ensure a coherent whole. I also oversee outgoing emails and make sure they are in line with the brand identity.

But it doesn't stop there. I coordinate participation in fairs and info days. As the Social Media Manager, I also take care of content creation and planning, and I keep a close eye on marketing trends. Fortunately, I have recently been joined by my new colleague Kiana, who will be taking on more and more of the digital side. That gives me a bit more space to work on new, creative projects. But you could say I am a jack of all trades."

What does your day look like?
Samira: "No two days are the same. I try to plan as much as possible but I do notice that this is not always easy. Due to the wide range of tasks, things have to shift every now and then. I mainly work according to important deadlines to ensure that they are always met. There is something new on my plate every day. But in between, I do try to make some time to do some training so that I always stay abreast of novelties. My goal is to make a bit more time for this in the coming year."

How did you end up working at Signpost?
Samira: "During corona, I cycled a lot and often passed by Signpost. Since IT interests me, I looked up the company. However, there was no suitable vacancy for me at that time. Through a friend who knew someone within the company, I later heard that a position had become available and I applied for it. However, Sien saw me as a perfect fit for Lernova and that's how the ball got rolling."

What are your interests besides work?
Samira: "Much of my time obviously creeps into being mum to my two-year-old son Haytam. But apart from that, I really enjoy cooking. From Moroccan to Italian to Flemish. I love diving into my kitchen to try new things. Apart from that, I really like to travel. I speak seven languages, which I then try to practise on holiday. Recently, I also started doing cardio training. And besides that, I spend my remaining time as much as possible with family and friends."
